The House, originally called Orchard Leigh, was built around 1820. Victorian bays were added when fashionable and extensions have been built at various times up to 1968. It still retains a charm of days gone by and the main house still retains a country house atmosphere. The House is set back from Bonchurch seashore and is 400 metres walk from our bottom car park down shore road.
Unchanged by time, Bonchurch is situated half a mile from Ventnor and three miles from Shanklin. Famous for its past literary residents, Dickens, Swinburne and Shaw, it also has the famous landslip walk starting in the village – and not forgetting the famous pond, a place to watch the ducks and fish lead their uncomplicated lives to the amusement of the visitors and holidaymakers alike.
